Swedfund are looking for an experienced project manager with exposure to emerging markets and developing infrastructure projects within the transport sector.
Aside from taking on responsibilities for ensuring smooth project progression for projects with a specific focus on sustainable transport solutions such as public transport and/or rail, you will also be tasked with the following,
- Take responsibility for a portfolio of projects for the transport segment, driving strategy and portfolio development
 - Supporting the project owner to take projects through the project development stages and to help develop terms of reference for specific project development studies such as feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessments
 - Ensuring productive and strong key stakeholder relationships with various public and private agencies
 - Enhancing the local project owner’s capacity to procure and develop sustainable solutions aligned with Swedfund’s guidelines
 - Ensure successful project implementation via coordinating the engagement and involvement of various technical advisors and project owners
 - Manage complex project related dialogues with both local and foreign partners
 - Develop and improve the wider team’s knowledge of the transport sector as well as internal processes and operations
 
The position is located in the office in Stockholm; however, the position involves regular international travel comprising around about 6 trips per year of 5 day’s duration per trip.
Your profile?
Relevant candidates will possess at least 7 years of relevant work experience from the transport sector incorporating arears such as public transport, bus and road transport or rail transport. Solid experience from within transport infrastructure projects is required, most probably from an international industrial provider or technical consulting roles, or similar. This alongside your experience and interest in international operations will ensure success in the role. Exposure to project financing is preferable.
Qualifications
What's needed?
- Academic degree in Economics, Engineering or Social sciences
 - At least 7 years of relevant experience
 - Extensive experience within infrastructure project management combined with tendering of civil engineering and transport infrastructure projects
 - Extensive experience from the transport sector
 - International experience
 - Project development and project financing experience with Team Sweden/ EKN, SEK or similar.
 - Professional levels of English
 
What's preferred?
- Experience with sustainability issues and how these can be addressed within the framework of feasibility or other types of preparatory studies
 - Experience from developing countries
 - Experience of collaborating with development banks and other financiers.
 - Experience and understanding of publicly funded activities
