As the Swedish Development Finance Institution, we are owned by the Swedish state and was founded back in 1979. Swedfund is managed by the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. The operations are financed partly through capital injections for which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible and through reflows from our own portfolio.
Our mission is to fight poverty by making sustainable investments in developing countries. Last year, our investments helped to create 198,000 jobs and tax revenues of 5.5 billion in developing countries.
Today we are 90 co-workers with head office in Stockholm, Sweden and office in Nairobi, Kenya and Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
